Overview
RIX Asset Maintenance were contracted to undertake stock pile structural and roof repairs for multiple contracts at the Super Pit’s Fimiston Plant, in Kalgoorlie’s Goldfields, Western Australia.
Solution
All works were completed by IRATA rope access Non Destructive Testing and boiler maker tradespeople which assessed and completed the weld repairs, purlin and sheet metal replacement.
The safety work methods and technique RAM introduced and implemented allowed all works to be undertaken with minimal disruption and downtime to the conveyor as it was able to be completed whilst it was still live, allowing the stock pile to continue to run at maximum capacity.
RAM’s Project Management and streamlined planning lead to the works being undertaken with minimal crane time and within the programmed time frames.
